Create High Quality Videos
Have something- a video on the channel before you start on how to gain subs.
Quality is crucial when you are starting out. Do not try to create a lot of videos with low quality. You will just hurt yourself – waste your time and not get views. There is no need.
Create a video that anyone will enjoy watching even when they may not be interested in the topic. Be in a well lit background, be audible and let your background be less distracting. That way when you are promoting your video people can already see your effort and be willing to support you. Use Canva to create high quality thumbnails HERE.
Share Your Link with Family and Friends
Friends and family are the first group of people to think of when you are planning to start getting subscribers. They will give your channel a nice start. If you had fifty friends who are willing to support you, that’s 50 subscribers.
Share the link with your family in their inboxes. Remind them because some of them may forget. If there are people you are working with, try to put the word out there. Ask them to support you through subscribing.
If you have a family WhatsApp group, that would be a win for you, because if one decides to support you and mentions it on the group, it would make others to follow suit.
Share your Channel link on Your Social media Accounts
If you have existing social accounts like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc, let your fans know about your channel. Encourage them to support you.
It will be more effective if you shared the link via a direct message. With an active and organic following, it is possible to get your first 100 subscribers in a day.
Encourage your viewers to subscribe in the video
Remember that this is your channel – your own space. You are free to do what you want. Within the video is the best and first place to promote your channel. Keep reminding your viewers to subscribe while introducing, in between your presentation and at the end of your video. You may also choose to add a watermark urging viewers to click the red button.
Some people may not see the need of subscribing. They may even forget, until you mention it.
Join Relevant Groups on FaceBook
Join groups that are related to your niche and be an active contributor. Share valuable content – put yourself out there. Help solve problems and then start sharing content that will help them solve more.
The goal is to build trust first.
Stream Live to get 100 Subscribers
To go live on YouTube you need to have atleast 1000 subscribers. Live streaming exposes your channel to new viewers. YouTube recommends live channels to viewers on the channel. Those viewers are your potential subscribers. Make sure you share content that is adding value in a way. It can be a tutorial, a comedy, or nice music.

Don’t forget about quality. I did not start YouTube long ago – Just a year and two months ago. I have learnt a lot, because I wanted to grow my channel.
I came across channel with less than ten videos with 100k subscribers and some with 300 videos and less than 2k subscribers. The only difference there was the quality of the videos.
